MILKY WAY SKI AREA

Right on the French/Italian border, Montgenevre constitutes the French part of the Milky Way,one of the biggest ski areas in Europe, more than 400km of ski runs.

At 1860m altitude, we have an excellent snow record and an early start to a long ski season. We are regularly the first resort open and the last to close, our season running from early December until the end of April.

The Pot de Miel is ideally situated. While easily accessible by road, we also have direct access to the ski runs, the piste "le pharah" running alongside the chalet. The Pharoh is the piste that connects the north and south sides of the ski area, making it one of the most convenient places to start from.

Montgenevre boasts more than 100km of ski runs:

59 maintained ski runs

38 ski lifts

25 runs for beginners

23 runs for intermediates

11 runs for advances

Montgenevre is not just for downhill skiers...

Snow Park with quarterpipe, pro jump gap and rop tow.

Cross-country ski runs in and around Montgenevre are great for all abilities. The routes wind through scented forests and around our picturesque lake, and are a lovely alternative to a day on the slopes. The Pot de Miel has beautiful views over the cross country runs.

Snowshoe walking or snow trekking on one of the 5km or 7km routes. The slower pace gives you time to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the spectacular views. Go alone, or book a guided expedition or join a group.

Apeak even do great night time snow shoe trecks, with vin chaud and fondue in a cosy yourte nestled in the woods.

Héli Skiing.  For the more advanced and adventurous skiers in your group, you can spend an exhilarating afternoon heli-skiing. Fly by helicopter from Montgenèvre before being dropped at 3000m at the Italian peaks of Dormillouse, Terranera or Clausi.
